Grid Infrastructure
The countries surrounding the North Sea have all set ambitious targets for offshore wind, aiming for a total of 120 GW by 2030 and at least 300 GW by 2050. The Ostend declaration underscored the need to improve cooperation between North Sea countries in order to reach these targets – where the key motivation is to ensure affordable, secure and sustainable energy for Europe. The European offshore wind industry is technologically well positioned to deliver on the targets, but the supply chain has also faced massive challenges due to increased costs and lacking financial support. Capacity, competence, and regional cooperation are challenges that must be solved to meet these targets.
This break-out-session will focus on Grid Infrastructure. We will keep you updated on which cases this session will be based on.
