Among young unemployed persons in South Africa, 62.4% are recent school-leavers at the initial stages of labour market entry. This cohort is the target group for the Skilled Workers for Germany Africa project. Germany's dual vocational training system is internationally renowned for its effectiveness in bridging the gap between education and the labour market. Its strong collaboration between the state, educational institutions, and industry ensures high-quality standards and relevance to labour market needs. The support of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) within the framework of the Skilled Workers for Germany Africa project presents young South Africans with a unique opportunity to benefit from this system at heart of its inception.
