From June 10 to 12, 2024, the international offshore wind and hydrogen supply industry gathered in Bremerhaven for the 22nd WINDFORCE Conference. This year’s national partner was Denmark, reflecting the long-standing cross-border cooperation in the North and Baltic Seas. The event was held under the patronage of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck.
Companies from Denmark and Germany came together to share their wealth of experience built over decades. Danish and German ports showcased their role as logistics hubs, with offshore grid connections in operation and new ones in planning. Danish companies also highlighted their operation of German offshore wind farms. Discussions emphasized the immense potential of the offshore wind market for advancing economic decarbonization in both countries and beyond.
The conference featured a rich program, including several panel discussions, over 30 specialist presentations, keynotes, dinner speeches, and start-up presentations.
Some of the key topics included:
- Expectations of the 2nd offshore wind tendering round for Germany: challenges and opportunities (panel discussion).
- Grids and redispatch (panel discussion).
- Sessions on market development, SME support, port development, the climate crisis, hydrogen, and service and operation
Over 300 national and international experts, including representatives from Denmark, the conference partner country, attended this pivotal event for the offshore industry.
