About Franconia:
Franconia is a hidden gem among Germany’s wine regions, situated in northern Bavaria. Thanks to its varied landscape, Baroque churches and charming villages, Franconia earns almost ten times as much from wine tourism as it does from wine alone. But even in the latter sector, there has been a tremendous amount of activity in recent years. Young producers are bringing fresh ideas to the table, and products like unfiltered Landwein at 11% ABV are now a natural fixture alongside the traditional Bocksbeutel.
What unites us, however, is the Silvaner, our favourite grape variety. We have been connected to it since 1659, and on the Franconia Wine Tour we want to showcase everything it has to offer. (Not to forget Riesling, Chardonnay or Pinot Noir, of course…) From sparkling wine using the méthode champenoise to delicate Nordic and expressive Burgundian-style wines, right through to the wilder side of Franconia.
To ensure our guests get the most out of it, we have woven in World Café-style speed dating sessions alongside the winery visits.
Welcome to Franconia – we look forward to seeing you!
