In light of the current tense geopolitical situation, the need for protection and monitoring solutions for critical civil infrastructure at sea in both Germany and Denmark remains significant. The protection of key infrastructure such as ports, energy installations and underwater connections continues to be a high priority. Cross-border collaboration between Denmark and Germany is more important than ever.

Together with our partners Danish Maritime, IDA Risk, German Association for Marine Technology (GMT) and VDMA Marine Equipment and Systems, we recently hosted a German-Danish industry gathering focused on civil maritime equipment and services for the protection of critical infrastructure at sea. The event brought together leading companies showcasing state-of-the-art technologies and industry experts sharing insights on current developments and challenges.

Participants gained an overview of the regulatory landscape in Germany and Denmark and learned which technologies are being explored in both countries.

The programme featured contributions from:

  • Frederik H. Milling, Head of Naval Industry Affairs, Danish Maritime
  • Kristina Hoffmann, Chairperson, IDA Risk
  • Andreas Wenzel, CEO, German-Danish Chamber of Commerce
  • Regina Hermsdorf, Division- Maritime Industry, Coordinating office of the Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Industry
  • Senior Police Director Nils von Waaden, Head of the Federal Police Sea Division
  • Holger Klindt, Gesellschaft für Maritime Technik / GMT
  • Commander Anders Lønne Christiansen, Chief Logistics, Coordination Department at the Maritime Capacity Center, Danish Ministry of Defence - Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO)
  • Julie-Sophie Hübertz, Managing Director, Copenhagen Global
  • Frank Sill Torres, Director (acting), Institute for Protection of Maritime Infrastructures German Aerospace Center (DLR)
  • Jorge Ivan Contreras-Cardeno, Head of Impact Area Resilience, Resilience Center Denmark

The event concluded with a panel discussion and informal networking, providing an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and the strengthening of German-Danish cooperation in this strategically important area.
