Cities are at the heart of the green transition, and buildings are one of the most decisive levers for making cities climate-neutral. As the building stock accounts for a significant share of global energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, the way buildings are planned, constructed and renovated directly shapes the environmental performance of cities. Sustainable construction and renovation in dense urban areas are therefore essential to reducing environmental impact while ensuring livable, resilient and inclusive cities. In both Germany and Denmark, stakeholders face similar challenges: balancing ambitious climate targets with economic feasibility, innovation, space constraints and regulatory frameworks.
At the Dialogue, we will explore these shared challenges, highlight practical solutions and discuss how stronger cross-border cooperation can accelerate the transition towards sustainable and affordable buildings in German and Danish cities.
